I am Sandy McElvey Gifted Specialist for Cleveland, Locust Fork, and Southeastern Elementary.  I am a 26 year veteran of the Blount county system having taught Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and now Gifted.  My husband and I have three children ages 23 - Jessica, Andrew-12, and Aubrey-8. Our oldest daughter graduated in December from The University of North Alabama.  On Saturdays in the Fall, you can find us down on the Plains cheering on our favorite Auburn Tigers! War Eagle!  I believe that all children are placed in my care for a reason and for the time that they are mine I cherish them as they are my own.  I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was 17, it was a calling and it still is!

I am so proud to be a part of all three of my schools.  At CES, we are a Leader in Me School.  Ask any of my students at all three schools what the 7 Habits are and they can tell you! My students are learning to be leaders everyday!
